Procedure: Gastric Sleeve

Hello, my name is Ashley. My journey begins well before meeting with DFW Bariatrics. I am a 29 year old mother of 2 amazing kids. I started putting on weight after my first child. I was never able to play with him at the park or fit down any of the slides and my husband stood by me. My daughter came along and I gained more weight and still my husband stood by me… Again I was unable to keep up with her because of my weight. I was 210 pounds at the small stature of 5 foot.

One very early morning while driving my husband, of almost 12 years mind you, to the airport he said “Ashley. I don’t care whatever you decide to do, get a trainer or join a gym.. or even if you have surgery.. BUT you have to get your weight under control… YOU will NOT leave me alone to raise these kids.” It hit me like a brick. It wasn’t about beauty for him… He was scared that because of my health I would leave him alone to raise our 2 kids.. Though his words hurt more than anyone could know … I understood. The next business day I contacted DFW Bariatrics.

I am happy to report I am 60lbs down and have completed five 5k races… since surgery…. While I still have much to loose I am well on my way and with the abundant after care, and amazing support group I know I will reach my goals… Thank you the DFW Bariatrics doctors and staff for giving my life back… for helping me to add years to my life with my children I am eternally grateful.
