Procedure: Gastric Sleeve

My Story: Were do I start? I have been over weight my whole life. I have lost weight in the past but could not keep it off, and the weight loss was not really the healthy way. I have been gaining more and more. I was so depressed. I told my husband one night I’m so tired off this – I can’t breathe, I have no life, there has to be more… I’m going to do something about it. I asked him if he would be beside me and he said of course honey. So I went on the internet and looked at so many weight loss places. I came across DFW Bariatric Institute and started reading stores of the patients.

I told my husband I’m going to feel out the insurance and see if I qualified. I was so scared I would not get a call. In the end, I had to do cash pay.

I told my husband that I needed help getting the money. He is so amazing. He said we’ll do this. I gave him a hug as I cried and thanked him.

Well, my surgery was 12/23/13 and it’s been 1 year and I have so much energy. I’m doing 5k’s and I have a new goal this new year – in 2015 I’m going to do my first 10k! My future is so bright. I’m 45 going on 25 and have so much energy….

Update: the 2nd set of photos are from 2015. I have kept the weight off!
