Procedure: Gastric Sleeve

When I started this journey on August 5, I had no idea that just a few months later I would be down 65 pounds. As with many others, I have battled my weight my entire life. I celebrated every feeling or emotion with food. When I met with the doctor at DFW Bariatrics he told me that this was a tool and that I had to do my part to make this work. I decided right then and there that whatever they told me to do I was going to do it and never looked back. Today I’m almost half way to my own personal goal. I’ve learned to deal with my emotions apart from the pantry and have found that exercise is a great stress reliever. How do I measure my success? It’s not by what the scale says. It’s when my six year old son walks up to me and throws his arms around me and says mom I can finally touch my arms! Priceless!
