Procedure: Gastric Sleeve

At 19 I began my journey on my own and called KBI. I told my parents that I wanted this surgery and that I wanted to pay for it myself. I got the call that my insurance covers my surgery 100% and I had never been more thrilled. I thought that I would have to pay for it myself and that it would cost me at least $5,000.

I had my first appointment and started going to the nutrition classes. On December 16th, I was sleeved. In the three months that I’ve had this surgery I went from weighing 298.8 pounds to 223.8. I’ve already gone from a size 24 pants to a size 16 and I dropped two shirt sizes and wear a large.

My story is so different because as a kid living with my parents, I try to influence them to eat healthier and exercise.

When I look at my before picture I cry. I never felt insecure when I was that big, but now I feel sorry that I made myself that way. Looking at the picture makes me feel ugly and gross, but my current pictures make me feel spectacular.
