Procedure: Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy

I was always one of those people who said, “I’d NEVER get weight loss surgery.” After countless diets and personal trainers I found myself at a very unhealthy 320lbs, on blood pressure medication and miserable.

I had no passion for life. I hated what looked back at me in the mirror. I hated the fact I had to worry about things like being able to fit into a booth at a restaurant; always being the “big girl”. I went to the doctor one day and my blood pressure was so severely high my doctor increased my blood pressure medication. I am only in my 20’s. I knew I was a ticking time bomb.

I made an appointment at DFW Bariatrics and finally felt like I had hope. I remember crying during my consultation because I was so ashamed of myself. I knew this is what I had to do.

I had the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy done. I am officially down 72 lbs and have a new outlook on life. I ENJOY living. I feel like I have gotten my life back. My journey is far from over but I’m loving the ride.
