I used to be in great shape and work out. At the age of 18, a major car accident shattered my right ankle and kept me out of the gym, and the gradual weight gain began and my skin began stretching. After getting back in the gym, my job as a heavy equipment operator took its toll on my back.

In 2007, after several back injections and physical therapy, I was again in the same shape prior to working out! From the age of 38-40 and working six and seven days a week, 10-12 hour days on pipelines, working out was not an option. At 41, after accepting a position as an inspector, my main job was to ride around in my truck and inspect sites and check on employees. Being in the truck 12-14 hours a day, six days a week escalated the weight gain.

As I gained weight, depression set in with a sense of hopelessness. I isolated myself from family and friends. I no longer felt attractive as I went from a size 34 in jeans to a size 46. I had nothing to do with my wife (who is very attractive), and our relationship suffered severely. After separating, I began researching weight loss options.

Because of my love for football and seeing how Nate Newton’s life was transformed by DFW Bariatrics, I turned to him for help in August, 2014. I began the testing process to see if I was a candidate for his bariatric program. With dedication and determination, seven months later I am 105 lbs thinner and in a size 36 jeans! I am off of blood pressure and heart medication and feel better than I have in five years! Although I am still battling back pain, I am trying to work out and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Thank you, DFW Bariatrics!
