Procedure: Gastric Sleeve

My Story: In January 2014 I had Multiple Lobular Pneumonia and almost died! I was a smoker and more than 100 pounds what I should have been. I had decided to have bariatric surgery long before then. However, due to complications from the pneumonia I had to put it on hold. My doctors told me that my life would soon end if I didn’t get the weight off and stop smoking. Well I guess that decision was made for me. After a two week stay in the hospital, nearly on life support, I had no choice but to quit smoking… Then the weight gain came on. I gained almost 25 lbs, already well over the 240 lb mark. I could barely walk from my car to my house. On 8/28/2014 I had gastric sleeve surgery. Now I’m down almost 40 lbs and feel AMAZING. Thank you, DFW Bariatrics, for giving me back my life.
